WILTON, Conn. – The slates of candidates for the Nov. 8 elections have been set by Wilton's Republican and Democratic town committees.
Republicans nominated First Selectman William Brennan for a fourth term. "Having been privileged to serve as your first selectman for the last five-and-a-half years, I am very grateful to many Wilton friends, associates and committee members who encouraged me to run for re-election," Brennan said in a statement. "My personal objectives remain the same — to continue to improve town governance, lower operating costs and strive to make Wilton a better place to live and to raise a family."
The GOP also nominated Selectman Hal Clark to the board's four-year term and Jim Saxe to the two-year term. Sax currently serves on the Board of Education. Second Selectman Susan Bruschi decided not to seek another term.
Democrats failed to put forward anyone to challenge Brennan in the race for first selectman. They nominated current Selectman Ted Hoffstatter to the four-year term and Richard J. Dubow to the two-year term. Selectman Richard Creeth announced this week he will not seek another term.
