WILTON, Conn. – Wilton teachers will receive no salary increases until the 2014-15 school year under an arbitration panel's ruling. The panel released its decision Friday  on a new contract between teachers and the board of Education. 

The arbitrators' decision further stipulates that teachers will receivce no salary increase unless they have reached the maximum "step" for their education level and years of experience. Then they will receive a 0.75 percent increase. The Wilton Board of Education released a statement saying: 

“The Wilton Board of Education recognizes and greatly appreciates the excellent work and dedication of Wilton teachers. Their skill and hard work was never an issue.  However, given the difficult times Wiltonians face, the moderation needed in future cost increases made resolution of the disputed issues, without arbitration, impossible.” 

The Wilton Education Association did not return a call regarding the arbitration results.
