WILTON, Conn. – Along with 18,000 other fourth- and fifth-grade voters in Connecticut, Cider Mill Elementary School’s 68 participants voted for this year’s winning book for the Nutmeg Award.

The children participated in a program to pick the Nutmeg winner by reading the 10 nominated books and choosing their favorite among them. In the end, the Wilton kids voted in unison for "Stolen Children" by Peg Kehret.

The program to read the nominated books is open to all the Cider Mill students and often teachers use the books as class reading.

Books nominated for the Connecticut Nutmeg Award must be 5 years old or less, fiction and published in the United States.
